REVIEW: The Butcher Block – Blue Hills

Cooked to perfection, succulent mouth-watering steaks. This is just one of the reasons my husband and I eat often at the Butcher Block in Blue Hills (Midrand). Another reason is also because it is less than 5km away from home, so that makes it very convenient.

Tonight we had dinner at the Butcher Block and this time I ordered the Haloumi starter – it is grilled and served on a skewer with a sweet dipping sauce on the side. It was delicious, just enough to wet my appetite and awaken my taste buds for the mail meal, of which I was still contemplating at the time.butcher-block-haloumi

I usually have the Bonne Femme; it is definitely my favourite of the main meals. My husband encouraged me to try something different this time so I eventually decided to have the Rib Eye Steak and I ordered a Peri-Peri sauce with it. Excellent choice! Not that I doubted my husband’s recommendation 😉  The steak was as always, like any other of their steaks, cooked to perfection.

I didn’t have space for dessert though, so we skipped that. The bar has a wide selection of drinks to choose from, so depending on what your mood is, I am sure you will find something to complement your meal…great selection of wines!

I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys and appreciates a great steak!
