Halitosis or bad breath as we know it, affects lives, negatively so, some with detrimental effects. Unless you yourself have experienced bad breath, you may not understand the depth of the effects that those with chronic bad breath suffer. Bad breath hurts – not just you but others around you as well.

Emotional Anxiety

Sufferers of chronic bad breath usually feel shame, have a low-self esteem and often feel humiliated. They may even isolate themselves as they are too embarrassed to be around others. Bad breath hurts.

Relationship barrier

Bad breath can become a barrier in personal relationships. Whether you’re dating or married, having bad breath can put a huge strain on the relationship as you become aware and nervous of your breath. Even worse, when the other person becomes aware and starts to keep their distance. Bad breath hurts.

Believe it or not, your performance can be affected by bad breath. It will make you detract from conversations. Because you become so conscious of your bad breath, you may lack confidence to speak and engage with others. 1. My tip is to pick a right toothbrush whose head and bristles are small enough to reach the back (molars) of the mouth where food is unnoticeable. Floss regularly. Use a mouthwash. Brush your tongue. Stop snacking after brushing your teeth at night, if you plan on snacking make sure you brush your teeth again. #FreshBreathCheck

  2. Follow a consist oral hygiene routine at least twice a day.
Brush your teeth and scrape plaque from tongue
Rinse with a good mouth wash

Visit the oral hygenist every 6 months

  3. Snack on crunchy, healthy foods… apples, celery, carrots remove food caught between your teeth and rub away bacteria.

    Nature’s toothbrushes. #FreshBreathCheck

    1. Have a set routine and stick to it. Make the time, teeth are forever. And yiir good hygiene habits will rub off on your kids. I’ve been struggling to make the time but I’m making a conscious effort. I slip up sometimes, but i try to stick to it. Good toothbrush, replace the whole family’s consistently. Having bad breath impacted my life so negatively so i get to the dentist at least twice a year and make a priority. Baby girl will be going in a few months as well for her first visit! Start them young!

    1. Plaque can also build up on your tongue. Not only can this lead to bad mouth odor, but it can lead to other oral health problems. Gently brush your tongue every time you brush your teeth.
