I haven’t quite liked toning lotions, most of them I tried previously, irritated my skin and I often skipped this step in my skincare regime. Although I didn’t have any problems with the Toner I was using, when I received the Nivea Perfect and Radiant Toning Lotion from Rubybox to review, I decided to give it a try.

I must admit and if you have been following my blog, you too will know by now that I love things that are well packaged. With that being said, I found the look and feel of the bottle appealing, so it did grab my attention and had lots to do with my decision to test it.

It’s been almost 2 weeks that I have been using it. My first impression was a positive one.  I use a cotton pad to apply the Nivea Perfect & Radiant Toning Lotion onto my skin.  There wasn’t any sting or any other feelings of discomfort. This was already a thumbs up for me at this point as many toning lotions I had used previously, caused some irritation to my skin.

Below is a BEFORE (left) and AFTER (right) photo. No filters. Unfortunately, these photos don’t quite do justice so I hope that you will take my word for it – I have evidently seen and experienced a reduction in my blemishes and the oiliness.

I love the smell, it’s so fresh…so pure…and it is said to purifiy and clear the skin, helps to prevent blemishes and controls shine; it contains Magnolia extract.  When my skin gets oily, I feel it without even looking at it or touching it, it makes me feel very uncomfortable. My skin gets more oily on warmer days. Since using the Nivea Perfect and Radiant Toning Lotion, I certainly noticed that my skin has been less oily than usual.

I love when I wash my face in the evenings and see or feel that my skin looks more clearer. My skin doesn’t feel naked and shy, instead, naked and pure, making me feel more fresh as I go to bed.

Naturally, after my skincare regime in the mornings, I find that I wear less makeup as my skin looks and feels better in just a matter of a few days. I am now eager to try the entire range as I always believe for the best results, it’s best to use the full range.

As a matter of interest, I did some research on the price – it varies and you can pay anything from R54 for a 200ml. I was surprised, I expected that it would cost somewhere in the region of R120. I think this is excellent value.

I’ve always personally felt that a lot of the products on the market are not suitable for darker skinned people, I’m glad that Nivea has such a product that is suitable for darker skin, well for mine anyway.

The big question: Will I continue using the Nivea Perfect and Radiant Toning Lotion?

When you’re done watching the video, I’d love your feedback, will you be trying this Toning Lotion or are you already using it?
