It doesn’t matter what your partner says, or how much they claim to not care, this Valentine’s Day matters and can be different, as you could stand the chance to win a Penthouse worth R13 million, just by shopping at Bedford. Below, are the favourite Valentine’s picks from Bedford to help you find the perfect spoil this Valentine’s Day.
Romantic Restaurant Hot Spots:
Chevy Lane, Banjaara, Kong Sing, Princi, Salsa, Brooklyn Brothers.
A romantic lunch or dinner is sure to set the mood. Book a table in advance at one of these restaurants. Prepare to indulge in good conversation, good food and drinks and of course each other’s company – with a little more effort than usual to savour the moment with eye contact, attentively gazing at each other. Don’t just dine cos you’re hungry and/or need to eat – make an experience of it, make it an extra special one.
Jewels are always a Girl’s Best Friend:
Get the best diamonds at Browns, D’uoro Jewellers, Shamer Jewellers, Orphe Jewellers
Whether you’re planning to pop the question or simply add to their collection, you can browse any of these stores to find something that will make the perfect gift, for the partner that prefers jewellery. Hint…hint…I said “partner” cos it’s not just girls that love jewellery. Ladies…there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t treat the special man in your life. Believe it or not, men too want to be made to feel special.
Date Night at the Movies:
Bedford boasts two movie centres; Nu Metro and Ster-Kinekor
Not everyone loves gifts – some prefer quality time together and if watching a movie together is the kind of quality time that you and your loved one so need, remember to book tickets early. Grab some popcorn and enjoy a movie together.
Because the Smallest Gesture Counts | Flowers/Gifts/Cards:
Carrol Boyes, Cardies, Hamleys, Tub & Rub, Exclusive Books.
From décor, to stuffed animals, to books and so much more – these are the type of gifts that require some thought – listen out for hints about what he or she likes or will appreciate. The fact that you were attentive, will earn you some major credit for effort – something, which sadly not everyone makes. I personally am always more touched not by “what” someone got me as a gift, but more about the effort that was put into it.
Date Night Outfit:
Bedford offers a wide range of fashion boutiques inclusive of Dress & Dare, Eva, The Executive.
There’s something to suit every style, from classic to modern, for men and for women, you can be sure to find something at one of these stores or the many others. If you’re not the type to go shopping for someone else, don’t despair, you can also get them a gift voucher. It takes some time to get to know what your love interest prefers…so send some hints before the time to understand his or her preferences – if you don’t already know. Don’t also assume that you know, people do change, so too do their wants/needs/desires.
Pamper your Loved One:
Matsimela – Home Spa
Beautiful fragrances from the fine botanical ingredients from mother-nature, you will find a variety of well packaged body care products that will make the perfect pampering gift.
Look no further, Bedford has the perfect idea for you this Valentine’s Day. Why not wine, dine, pamper and spoil your partner, all at one centre. What’s even more exciting, is that you could give your partner the ultimate Valentine’s Day gift – an entry into the draw to win a R13 million penthouse.

There’s only one way to splurge with a R750 Valentine’s voucher, and that’s on an epic date night with your favourite person!
Wow…i would take my 9yr old son on a date night. With recently having a baby 10 weeks the past 6 months my son felt as if i had no time for him anymore moreso after the baby was born. It would be the perfect opportunity to go movies, eat out, buy him a game and shower him with goodies just the 2 of us like we used to. What better way to start our new life in Jhb too. *giggles*

Ohhhh golly gosh, when we lost our bed base to a flood I promised my twin boys that I would replace it in no time. All I can say is time flies and we going onto 6months now. I would totally go to Tempur and choose a base or frame that we can buy.

I would definitely take my husband for dinner at Chevy Lane, when he saw the restaurant for the first time he looked like a kid who just saw Santa. He said “Babe, I feel like I’m in NewYork, we need to come dine here some time because I loooove this feeling.”
We both love the set-up and the vibe is amazing, it really does feel like one of the restaurants in NewYork, it’s so alive.
My husband would be treated to anything he wants to do at Bedford Shopping Centre. Not what I think he will like. His wishes, is my command.
I like the thought of a date night, so I’d probably spend my money on that – and a treat for myself at a fashion boutique.
I would treat my husband to a meal at Brooklyn Brothers, it is a place that he always wanted to visit
I would use the voucher to try out the new restaurant Chevy Lane and then on some popcorn and a movie 💜
